Activity-Based Modeling Workshop - May 11, 2018 - FDOT D4 Auditorium

This one-day workshop will offer a hands-on tutorial on two recent enhancements to SERPM7 and TCRPM4:

  • A procedure to apply the model to perform site impact studies
  • A tool to check and validate the input data to the PopSyn3 (Population Synthesizer).

Workshop presentation: ABMWorkshop_11May2018.pdf

The goal of the site impact modeling procedure is to ensure that the “build” case uses the exact same population as the “no build” case, except for the population of the proposed development.  The workshop will describe the steps required to synthesize the “build” population and to apply the model, illustrated with a case study.  The model application includes an optional geographic household sampling procedure intended to reduce run-time, and which has broader application to other types of studies. The workshop will also cover the steps to add a new TAZ/MAZ to the model, an alternative method to perform site impact studies. The PopSyn Data Input Tool is an ArcGIS-based tool that helps edit and performs multiple checks on the internal consistency and validity of user-provided PopSyn control files.
